UROC Videos

Had a really fun day yesterday up on the Blue Ridge for the Ultra Race of Champions 100K race. I'll write a more thorough report later today but, for now, check out some of the video coverage here. I'd be curious to hear what some of you think about this experiment with same-day video of an ultra race>

Overall I was pretty happy with the videos. I think they effectively gave the viewer a sense of the action while being short enough to where the commentary didn't feel forced. (Imagine commenting for hours...) Kudos to everybody involved.

I pretty impressed and excited about the video, You got to really see a lot of what was going in conjunction with the tweets. You see this in Elite marathons but I don't think I have ever seen an Ultra covered like that, I had a blast following it. Thanks for you hard work to AJW.

I thought they were brilliant. I couldn't watch them during the race (at work) but I watched them shortly after. I am used to reading about ultra races the next morning and this was WAY better. Between irunfar's twitter feeds and these videos I enjoyed following this race more than any other.
So you were the narrator on the videos? If so, great job! Your familiarity with all the different runners and their characteristics made for compelling coverage.

Hey, Andy. I thought these were great, and the voiceover commentary on the fly was fantastic. Make sue you do more.

Agree with Hank on the voice-over stuff, Andy. You do a really good job as a commentator: knowledgeable, passionate and fluid.

The edited video and commentary was by far the best innovation to come from the race.
