Blogs!

Cast your vote on the sidebar to the right. Seems to me it's time to take stock of the ultrarunning blogosphere. If you wish, after casting a vote, tell us why in a comment. And, if you'd like to cast a vote for a blog not on the list, let me know.

UROC thoughts on Wednesday...

Snubbed. We have a decent following at:
http://mrc-ultra.blogspot.com

I'm calling for a write-in vote :)

iRF, but it's kinda not a fair competition in my view. Most of the blogs are individuals writing about their running and running related thoughts. Bryon, on the other hand, has made the one-stop-shopping site for ultrarunning info and he makes a career of it.

My runners up would be Anton's for the immaculate writing and Nick Clark's for the overall atmosphere.

If you have IRF you should also have InsideTrail.

Where is Inside Trail?:)

I agree with Jon Allen. iRunFar is a complete pro site. Congrats to Bryon Powell for that.

I like them all: Riding the Wind, Karl Meltzer's, Fumbling, AJW's.

I do think that A Trail Runner's, which used to be awesome, has lost some power on recent times.

Best,

André

I probably dig Joe Grant's Footnotes @ alpine-works.com (not on the list though) the most at this point...always quality and superb photography.

Alpine Works is stellar for the photography - probably the best combo of running and incredible shots out there. Run Junkie is not too bad for the photography either, which is why it got my vote.

The best blog is AJW's. Hands down. Expression of inner truths (rather than social truths), the philosophy of long-distance running discussions, the joy and ebullience of a grown-up kid at play in the mountains...and then, to top it off, if you mess with him (and call him quasi-academic), he will launch a poll that excludes you. Love it!

Brownie's got more votes than me? WTF? He is obviously doping.

Alpine Works of Joe Grant. Photography is surreal great, and when he does write, it's captivating and professional. Why is he not on the list? :)

Where the MRC Blog?

Another for Alpine-Works.

Thanks for the suggestions. Too late to add them to this poll but they're all added to the blog roll below...

I got snubbed big time. My blog gets 100,000 hits a year and has way more than just stuff about my own running. Recent posts include interviews with Karl Meltzer and Nick Clark. Come on!

Sorry Wyatt. No snub intended. I'll add it to the list.

Thanks, AJW!

Btw, I would definitely put your blog up there in the top-5. Very honest and down-to-earth.

I voted Hang Nine (no offense iRunFar). I have an older daughter and younger son and I love the personal good old Americana side that is juxtoposed into the blog. And he is smart enough not to misuse the word juxtopose.
