I started this blog as a place for me to write race reports and to reflect on running and racing. For the past four and half years it has been a great place for me to do that. In addition, over time it has become much more than that as over the past two years this blog has averaged 25,000 pageviews per month.. I never thought that would happen so thanks, everyone, for being interested enough in what I have to say to read this blog.
For now, for me in my life, it's time to move on. On January 1st I'll be shutting down this blog and focusing on the many other things in my life.
If you are interested in what I have to say or what I think or what I am up to or what my training is like there are still many places you can find me:
You can read my weekly column, AJW's Taproom, published every Friday on irunfar.com
You can become my friend on Facebook
You can "follow" me on Twitter
You can check out my training log on attackpoint.com
Happy New Year everyone and I'll see you in Squaw!

Hat's off to you, AJW! You've had quite the run on AJW's Blog and the sport's better off for it.
Sounds like you're allowing your blog to DNF. Weak.
Sad to read this, AJW, but it was great to follow from beginning to end. Cheers.
Has been fun to follow and understand moving on:)
Did Shelley finally read your blog? We knew it was inevitable.
Definitely been a fun ride. AJW's blog will go down in the Lore of Ultrarunning if I ever write it. Remember way back when you started this and those pesky anonymous Oregonians harrassing you? Can't believe they did that. And then there were the synchroblogs when you didn't even know how to put a hyperlink or a picture in a post? Damn good stuff. We're gonna look back at these years and laugh. Thanks for the memories. Maybe I should write a eulogy.
LOL Brownie. Winning.
Bummer! I was waiting for your review of the female ultrarunner blogs. Sigh...guess I'll have to harass you on the Tap Room instead. Happy Trails!
I get it, you didn't want to blog about female ultrarunning once a month, so it comes to this. Ha!
Have fun training for your two big monster races this year!
I understand needing to focus on other things in your life, but it's sad to see the end of your blog. (Facebook and twitter just don't offer opportunities for the same kinds of insights and interactions.)
Thanks for contributing to the running community through your blog, Andy. Good luck with everything, and definitely we'll see you at Squaw (and Silverton).
best of luck with your new endeavors
AJW - Will there be any "repository" for your previous WS Race Reports? Those presents extremely useful learning resources!
sent you a friends request... I really enjoyed your blog and always considered it a valuable resource for ultra running info esp when I first started running ultras. and sophie's right btw:) ALWAYS!!!
