Five questions before the Dance

1. How many miles did you run last week?

2. Who's injured going into the last four weeks of training?

3. Who's going to turn some heads at the dance?

4. Will it be hot, snowy, or both?

5. Have you done your trail work?

1. How many miles did you run last week?

74 last week and 103 the week before that (the biggest week of running I have ever done)

2. Who's injured going into the last four weeks of training?

Thankfully no injuries but my knees are beginning to hurt, never had that before.

3. Who's going to turn some heads at the dance?

It will be a foreign runner who is in stealth mode right now and has told me to keep my mouth shut (no, I am not talking about myself).

4. Will it be hot, snowy, or both?

Both

5. Have you done your trail work?

Yes, done in NZ. I'll also go out and help plant trees on Duncan and help mark the trail during high country camp.

Trying to do some scouting, Andy?

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...

2. Might be a shorter list if you ask who isn't injured.

5. Please tell me you did your trailwork.

Send the form in Andy, we'd hate to see you miss out on starting the race.

Cheers, PC

Paul,

Yes, I just put my form in the mail yesterday. I procrastinated and didn't get the work done until the last minute.

Jasper,

Of course I'm scouting. And, good luck at Silver State. Don't get lost.

Craig,

There are a lot of injuries out there.

Silver State will be a training run for me. I've done my best to make sure of that by running TVR this morning and will run 20 on the course tomorrow. I'll let Rod and Erik go out and hammer it. And if I get lost - hey, more training miles!!!

Jasper,

How far'd you go in TVR? I still have fond memories of doing it with you back in 2005 on the Piedmont HS Track.

And, good luck with the "training run"

Yeah, those were the good old days. We miss you here in the east bay, Andy.

Made it 16,020 this morning. It was looking iffy for the first half hour as I was hovering around 6:02-6:03 pace, but I got a second wind and cranked out the final 4 at 5:55-5:56 to finally crack the 16k barrier.

You run it this year?

3. Mike Wolfe and the best looking female watching the race.

2. Craig's injured (he's faking it to set you up for the Big Lebowski come race day!), my left foot hurts and I am cranky...

1. Dunno, I don't run by miles, rather by hours, miles is guess work and I don't like to think...I ran a lot last week, more this week. Don't forget, I used the Anton function on my calculator to get my volume...

5. Of course, we cleared a short-cut from the back yard to the golf course two weeks ago.

4. Yes

6. For Paul, where is Old Zealand?

AJW, glad to hear it. I have heard of someone being denied race entry because he did not send his volunteer hours in. I suspect Greg might be quite tough on this requirement this year to trim the numbers a little.

CB, Zeeland is in the Netherlands, the wiki entry explains why New Zealand is named so:
